The Industrial Engineer will play a key role in improving member experience, optimizing store and digital workflows, and advancing BJs culture of continuous improvement in a fast-paced, member-centric environment.</p><div></div><p><b> Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Analyze and improve store and digital processes to increase sales conversion, basket size, and member retention.</li><li> Conduct time and motion studies, develop labor standards, and recommend workflow improvements to increase throughput and reduce waste.</li><li> Evaluate store operations including staffing models, checkout performance, inventory flow, merchandising execution, and fulfillment processes.</li><li> Support optimization of digital order fulfillment, site/app workflows, and online purchase experience to reduce friction and improve efficiency.</li><li> Use operational and member data to identify trends, root causes, and performance gaps.</li><li> Build financial models and cost-benefit analyses to support recommendations and measure ROI.</li><li> Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance speed, accuracy, and operational consistency.</li><li> Partner with merchandising, marketing, IT, supply chain, and store operations teams to support execution of improvement initiatives.</li><li> Track project milestones, measure KPI impact, and report progress to leadership.</li><li> Support change management efforts and ensure successful implementation of process enhancements.</li></ul><div></div><p><b> Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, or related field (Masters preferred).</li><li> 35+ years of experience in retail operations, supply chain, digital commerce, or consulting focused on process improvement.</li><li> Experience in grocery, big-box, warehouse club, or omnichannel retail environments preferred.</li><li> Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.</li><li> Familiarity with labor modeling, workforce management systems, and operational performance metrics.</li><li> Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement frameworks (Green Belt preferred).</li><li> Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights.</li><li> Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.</li><li> Willingness to travel to store locations and distribution centers as needed.</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span> This is a hybrid role. At BJs Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $79,000.00 - $105,500.00
