MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
This position will serve as the primary day-to-day information systems security support to the government customer to ensure all security and Information Assurance requirements are in compliance to both achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO). The ISSO provides oversight, guidance, and technical support on government customer mission systems by implementing common information system security practices, controls, policies and technologies in accordance with the customers Risk Management Framework (RMF) process. Subject will interface with multiple government agencies within both the Department of War (DoW) and Intelligence Community (IC).
Key duties and/or responsibilities:
- Information Security interface to the government customer Designated Accrediting Authorities (DAO), System Control Assessor (SCA), Information System Owner (ISO) and to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), for Information Technology (IT)-Information Assurance (IA)- Information Management (IM) (IT-IA-IM) and Cyber Network Defense
- Coordinate/validate/oversee operational security posture for all assigned information systems
- Review and Validate ICD 503 Continuous Monitoring requirements within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
- Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analysis to support Authorization and Accreditation (A&A)
- Identify, develop, and recommend security measures to counter or mitigate system vulnerabilities and risk
- Support and track customer security authorization activities
- Conduct periodic reviews and evaluations of required IS policies and procedures
- Coordinate IA test and assessments
- Participates in special projects as required.
WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED

Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
Experience: 5+ years of related experience as ISSO/ISSM
Technical skills: Must have current Security+ CE certification or higher Information Assurance professional certification. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) desired.
- Knowledge and hands on experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
- Broad technical understanding of information technology systems, software, and networks
- In depth knowledge of network and information system security principles and test practices
- Previous experience controlling, labeling, virus scanning, and appropriately transferring data (upload/download) between information systems at varying classification levels
- Ability to build rapport with customer and contractors at all levels
- Have familiarity with applicable IC and DoD policies, procedures and operating instructions related to IT-IA-IM.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills/briefing skills; communicate with senior level leaders, internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations and independent decision making with minimal direct supervision while representing the security organization
- Must be a self-driven and results-oriented individual capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite (MSWord, Excel, Power Point)
Security clearance level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
US citizenship required
Role requirements: onsite at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS). Ability to travel to support other locations
