Job Description
TheManager, Business & Project Management Office(BPMO)plays a critical role within AbbVie's Business Technology Solutions Information Research (IR) Team, leadingcross-functional delivery,process optimization,annual planningand supporting reporting,resource managementandproject managementofficeactivitieswithintheBPMOteam. Thisroleis responsible for driving alignment across stakeholderstohelpsupportcontinuous improvement of processes,planning,tools and standards that strengthenIRsoperational performanceand value delivery. Responsibilities: - Drive end-to-end delivery of cross-functional initiatives within IR, ensuring alignment tostakeholders,scope, timelines, budget, and quality expectations.
- Identify, design, and implement process improvements across BPMOand IRworkflows, tools, and standards to enhance operational efficiency and consistency.
- LeadIRannual planning processes (e.g., Long-Range Plan, Capital Plan), ensuring initiativesandfundingsupportIR strategic priorities.
- Provide accurate, timely reporting and insightstoIRleadership, enabling data-driven decision-making and transparent communication.Effectively leverage established PPM practices and tools (e.g., Clarity, Jira).
- Supportand partner withresource management, reporting and project management team leads as necessary.
- Drive communication, adoption, and change management strategies to support successful implementation ofBPMO activitiesacross IR.
- Provide internal operational coaching and consultation toIRcolleagues.
- Establish and maintain strategic level working relationships with all levels inIR,Finance, and selected external partners and suppliers.
- RepresentsIRby promoting AbbVie BTSs strategic vision, operating tenants, and strategic imperatives.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Key Stakeholders:Support and collaborate withIR BPMO leads, IR Operations leads, IR Subdomain & Pillar leads, Business Technology Solutions R&D Finance leads, Strategic Vendor leads.
Qualifications
Required: - Bachelors degree in a scientific or business field with 7 years experience; Masters degree with 6 years experience; PhD with 2 years experience.
- Minimumof2yearsofexperienceinprojectmanagement,businesssystemsanalysis,software deployment, or PMO administration.
- Experienceleadinginamultitaskenvironmentaswellasinavirtualandmatrixorganization; operatingwithin broad goals andobjectives.
- Excellent cross-functional negotiating skills and multi-faceted operational skills.
- Proven ability toestablishand maintain high-quality relationships with all levels across the company and with external partners.
- Strong interpersonal,collaborationand communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Demonstratedabilitytoarticulateandnegotiateprojectsandprioritiesacrossfunctionsand/ororganizations,proven experience in situations of conflict resolution, problemsolvingand crisis management.
- Operate with a big picture perspective, balancing efficiency in task-execution with effectiveness to deliver on enterpriseobjectives.
Preferred: - Strong/demonstratedknowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, i.e., FDA and European Union and their impacttoorganizationprocesses and technology tools.
- Vendor contracting/strategy experience.
